Apple Pay on your website, for people who shop on their iPhone
Many of your visitors arrive on an iPhone, and typing a card number on a small screen is where orders get lost. Turn Apple Pay on in Stripe and your Cornerrr checkout shows an Apple Pay button, so the customer pays with a glance or a touch.

What is Apple Pay?
Apple Pay is Apple’s digital wallet. Customers add their credit or debit cards to the Wallet app once, then pay online on an iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple Watch by confirming with Face ID, Touch ID or their passcode. For your business it’s a card payment, so it works in the currencies Stripe supports for cards, and the shopper’s real card number isn’t passed to your store.
How your customers pay
Checkout on an Apple device
The customer checks out on your website in Safari, or another browser that supports Apple Pay, on a device with a card in Wallet. Stripe Checkout shows an Apple Pay button next to the other ways to pay.
One tap opens the payment sheet
Apple’s payment sheet slides up with the card from Wallet and the order total. The customer can pick a different card from Wallet if they want.
Face ID, Touch ID or passcode
They confirm with a glance, a fingerprint or their passcode. On a Mac without Touch ID they can confirm on a nearby iPhone or Apple Watch instead.
Back to your store
The payment is approved like a card payment and the customer lands on your order confirmation page. The order email comes from your store, as it does for every other way to pay.
Why offer it
Why businesses take Apple Pay
Fewer abandoned phone checkouts
No card to dig out of a bag and no long number to type on a small keyboard. For a florist taking a same-week birthday order or a bakery taking Saturday preorders, that’s the step where phone buyers tend to give up.
Nothing to set up on your domain
Because Stripe hosts the checkout page, you don’t register your web address with Apple or upload any files. Turn Apple Pay on in Stripe and it appears for shoppers who can use it.
Card numbers stay private
Apple Pay passes a device-specific number and a one-time code instead of the card number. Customers wary of typing their card into a website they’ve never used before may feel more at ease.
Works for subscriptions
On the Growth plan a customer can start a weekly or monthly subscription with Apple Pay, and Stripe charges it automatically at each renewal.
Set up
Turn on Apple Pay in three steps.
Connect your Stripe account
Link the Stripe account you already have, or create one in a few minutes from Cornerrr. Payments go straight to it; Cornerrr adds no transaction fee.
Turn the method on in Stripe
In your Stripe Dashboard, open the payment method settings and turn it on. Stripe may ask a few questions about your business first.
It shows at checkout
Your Cornerrr checkout is Stripe Checkout, so customers who can use the method see it automatically when their country and your currency match.
Questions
Good to know
How do I turn on Apple Pay on my Cornerrr website?
Connect your Stripe account, then open the payment method settings in your Stripe Dashboard and make sure Apple Pay is on. Cornerrr’s Stripe Checkout then shows it to eligible customers automatically, with no code and no domain setup.
Why can’t I see the Apple Pay button at checkout?
It only appears on Apple devices with a card in Wallet, in a browser that supports Apple Pay. On a Windows laptop or an Android phone you won’t see it, and Google Pay or Link may show instead.
Can customers pay for a subscription with Apple Pay?
Yes. Stripe Checkout accepts Apple Pay for subscriptions. Subscriptions on Cornerrr need the Growth plan, and Stripe bills them automatically on the schedule you set.
How do Apple Pay refunds work?
Refund the order through Stripe, in full or in part, just as you would a card payment. The money goes back to the card the customer used in Wallet, and your store emails them a refund confirmation.
Does Apple bill my business for Apple Pay?
Stripe processes Apple Pay payments and you pay Stripe’s processing fees (see Stripe’s pricing page), not a separate bill from Apple. Cornerrr adds no transaction fee.
Do I need any technical skills?
No. You describe your business in your own words and Cornerrr builds the website. Afterwards you change things by clicking, or by asking the assistant in plain words.
How much does it cost?
Building and previewing your website is free, with no card needed. To go live and take payments, choose a plan from $19 a month. Every paid plan starts with a 14-day free trial; a card is needed to start it.
