Cornerrr in Slovakia
Describe your business in Slovak and Cornerrr builds the website: pages, products, a request form and a Stripe checkout in euros. Slovakia raised VAT and changed how it counts turnover in 2025, so here is what applies now.
Payments
Slovak shoppers pay by card, with Apple Pay and Google Pay, and often still with cash on delivery (dobierka). Through Stripe you can take cards, wallets and Revolut Pay in euros, and SEPA Direct Debit for subscriptions. Bank buttons from Slovak banks aren’t part of Stripe Checkout, cash on delivery isn’t possible, and PayPal isn’t available through Cornerrr’s checkout either.
Before you start
Slovakia’s standard VAT rose from 20% to 23% on 1 January 2025, with reduced rates of 19% and 5% for some goods and services. Consumer prices must include DPH.
Turnover over €50,000 in a calendar year makes you a VAT payer from 1 January of the next year; pass €62,500 within the year and you’re a payer straight away. Since 2025, turnover counts per calendar year, from zero each January.
Show your business name, address, IČO, DIČ and IČ DPH if you have one, and publish terms (obchodné podmienky) covering delivery, payment, returns and complaints. The AI drafts the policy pages for you to review.
Customers can withdraw within 14 days of delivery and complain about faults for two years. Tell them about the Slovak Trade Inspection (SOI) for out-of-court disputes, and remove any old link to the EU ODR platform, closed since July 2025.
Above €10,000 a year of consumer sales to other EU countries, you charge their VAT and report it through the One-Stop Shop. This is a summary to start from, not legal or tax advice.
General information, current as of October 2026, not legal or tax advice. Rules and rates change, so check them with an accountant or adviser, or the official sources, before you rely on them.
Cornerrr
Set your store’s currency to EUR and your products, shipping rates and checkout use it. Cornerrr works with about 140 currencies, one per web address.
Turn on Stripe Tax in your Stripe account and Cornerrr asks it to work out VAT for each order at checkout, on any paid plan. You can collect business customers’ VAT numbers too.
Describe your business in Slovak and Cornerrr writes your pages in Slovak. Stripe Checkout shows in Slovak too. A few built-in cart and account labels are still in English today.
Checkout is Stripe’s own, so the local payment methods you turn on in Stripe show up for the customers who can use them, next to cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Local tips
Slovaks read Czech easily and many shop on Czech sites, but a shop in Slovak, with prices in euros and Slovak delivery options, feels local. Use Slovak for product names, sizes and terms.
Packeta (Zásielkovňa) pickup points and Z-BOX lockers, Slovenská pošta, and couriers such as DPD, GLS and SPS cover the country. Set a fixed rate for each option you use, with a delivery estimate.
Some shoppers still expect to pay the courier. Say on your delivery page that payment is online by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, that the order ships once it’s paid, and how refunds work.
How it works
A sentence or two is enough: what you do, who it’s for and how people buy from you.
Cornerrr writes your pages, adds your products or services, and picks the colours, fonts and look. It takes about a minute.
