An online store for Croatia that sells beyond the summer

Describe your business in Croatian and Cornerrr builds the online store: pages, products, a request form and a Stripe checkout in euros. Croatia’s fiscalization rules changed in 2026, so this page starts with what that means for online sales.

Payments

How people in Croatia pay online.

Croatians pay online by card and with Apple Pay and Google Pay, and some still prefer cash on delivery (pouzećem) or a payment slip paid at the bank or post office. Through Stripe you can offer cards, wallets and Revolut Pay in euros, and SEPA Direct Debit for subscriptions. Payment slips and cash on delivery aren’t part of Stripe Checkout, and PayPal isn’t available through Cornerrr’s checkout.

Before you start

Selling online in Croatia: what to know.

  1. Fiscalization now covers online payments

From 1 January 2026, Croatia’s new Fiscalization Act extends fiscalized receipts to sales to consumers whatever the payment method, online card payments included. Stripe’s receipts aren’t fiscalized, so ask your accountant which tool issues yours.

  2. PDV registration at €60,000

Since 2025, Croatian businesses can stay outside VAT (PDV) while their yearly turnover is at or under €60,000. Above that, register with the Tax Administration (Porezna uprava) and start charging PDV.

  3. PDV at 25%

The standard rate is 25%, with 13% and 5% for some goods and services. Prices for consumers must include PDV, and Stripe Tax can calculate it at checkout on any paid plan.

  4. Pravo na jednostrani raskid

A consumer who buys online can withdraw within 14 days. Explain how to return an item and include the model withdrawal form, along with your company name, OIB, address and email.

  5. When visitors order from home

If summer visitors order again once they’re home, those are sales to other EU countries. Above €10,000 a year of them, you charge their VAT through the One-Stop Shop. Your accountant has the final word; this is general information, not tax advice.

General information, current as of October 2026, not legal or tax advice. Rules and rates change, so check them with an accountant or adviser, or the official sources, before you rely on them.

Cornerrr

Built for businesses in Croatia

  • Prices in euros

Set your store’s currency to EUR and your products, shipping rates and checkout use it. Cornerrr works with about 140 currencies, one per web address.

  • VAT at checkout

Turn on Stripe Tax in your Stripe account and Cornerrr asks it to work out VAT for each order at checkout, on any paid plan. You can collect business customers’ VAT numbers too.

  • Your words in Croatian

Describe your business in Croatian and Cornerrr writes your pages in Croatian. Stripe Checkout shows in Croatian too. A few built-in cart and account labels are still in English today.

  • Local ways to pay

Checkout is Stripe’s own, so the local payment methods you turn on in Stripe show up for the customers who can use them, next to cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay.

Local tips

Make it feel local

  • Keep summer customers after the season

Visitors find you in summer; give them a reason to come back. Put a newsletter sign-up on your home page, and add the countries they come from, such as Germany, Austria and Slovenia, to your shipping countries.

  • Choose the language for the buyers you want

A Cornerrr website has one language. If most orders come from Croatia, write in Croatian; if you mainly sell to visitors once they’re back home, English may serve you better.

  • Allow for the islands

BOX NOW lockers, Hrvatska pošta’s paketomati, GLS, DPD and Overseas Express cover the mainland, while islands take longer. Give each fixed rate a delivery estimate that allows for the ferry.

How it works

From a few words to your website, live.

  1. Step 1: Describe your business

A sentence or two is enough: what you do, who it’s for and how people buy from you.

  2. Step 2: We build it while you watch

Cornerrr writes your pages, adds your products or services, and picks the colours, fonts and look. It takes about a minute.

  3. Step 3: Connect payments

Link a Stripe account, or create one in a few minutes. Your customers pay you directly.

  4. Step 4: You’re live

Publish on your free Cornerrr web address, or use your own. Change anything later by asking.

Questions

Good to know

Can my website be in Croatian?

Yes. Describe your business in Croatian and Cornerrr writes the pages and products in Croatian, and Stripe’s checkout appears in Croatian. The exception today is a handful of built-in cart and account labels, which stay in English, although the add-to-cart and checkout buttons can be renamed.

Do I need fiscalized receipts for online orders?

Very likely, since 2026: Croatia’s Fiscalization Act now covers sales to consumers whatever the payment method. Cornerrr and Stripe don’t issue fiscalized receipts, so ask your accountant to suggest a fiscalization tool.

Can visitors from abroad pay with PayPal?

No, PayPal can’t be offered through Cornerrr’s checkout at the moment. Visitors can pay by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Revolut Pay, all in euros.

Can I show prices in pounds or other currencies for visitors?

Your store has one currency, euros for Croatia, which suits visitors from the euro area. The Pro plan adds prices in another currency, such as pounds, each on a web address of its own.

Do I need any technical skills?

No. You describe your business in your own words and Cornerrr builds the website. Afterwards you change things by clicking, or by asking the assistant in plain words.

How much does it cost?

Building and previewing your website is free, with no card needed. To go live and take payments, choose a plan from $19 a month. Every paid plan starts with a 14-day free trial; a card is needed to start it.
