Payments

How people in the Czech Republic pay online.

Czech shoppers pay by card, with Apple Pay and Google Pay, and still often with cash on delivery (dobírka). Many also pay by bank transfer with a QR code, which isn’t part of Stripe Checkout, and local gateways such as GoPay and ComGate add Czech bank buttons that Stripe doesn’t offer. Through Stripe you can take cards, wallets and Klarna in koruna. PayPal can’t be used at Cornerrr’s checkout today, so list the methods you do take.

Before you start

Selling online in the Czech Republic: what to know.

  1. DPH registration from CZK 2 million

Since 2025, you become a VAT (DPH) payer from 1 January after a calendar year with turnover over CZK 2,000,000. Pass CZK 2,536,500 within a year and you’re a payer from the next day. Check the timing with your accountant.

  2. DPH at 21%, included in prices

The standard rate is 21%, with 12% for food and some other goods and services. Prices for consumers must include DPH; Stripe Tax can calculate it at checkout on any paid plan.

  3. Obchodní podmínky and company details

Publish terms (obchodní podmínky) that cover delivery, payment, returns and complaints, and show your company name, IČO, address and email. Add the page yourself; the AI drafts terms and refund pages for you to check.

  4. Odstoupení od smlouvy and complaints

Customers can withdraw from online purchases within 14 days and complain about faults for two years. Tell them they can turn to the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (ČOI) for out-of-court consumer disputes.

  5. Selling to Slovakia and the rest of the EU

Above €10,000 a year of consumer sales to other EU countries, charge each country’s VAT and report it through the One-Stop Shop. Slovak customers then pay Slovak VAT, even though they read your Czech pages easily.

  6. Privacy, and the old ODR link

Explain what you collect in a privacy policy, as GDPR requires. If you copy terms from an older Czech template, remove the link to the EU ODR platform, which closed in July 2025. Treat this as general information and have your terms checked by a lawyer.

General information, current as of October 2026, not legal or tax advice. Rules and rates change, so check them with an accountant or adviser, or the official sources, before you rely on them.

Cornerrr

Built for businesses in the Czech Republic

  • Prices in CZK

Set your store’s currency to CZK and your products, shipping rates and checkout use it. Cornerrr works with about 140 currencies, one per web address.

  • VAT at checkout

Turn on Stripe Tax in your Stripe account and Cornerrr asks it to work out VAT for each order at checkout, on any paid plan. You can collect business customers’ VAT numbers too.

  • Your words in Czech

Describe your business in Czech and Cornerrr writes your pages in Czech. Stripe Checkout shows in Czech too. A few built-in cart and account labels are still in English today.

  • Local ways to pay

Checkout is Stripe’s own, so the local payment methods you turn on in Stripe show up for the customers who can use them, next to cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay.

Local tips

Make it feel local

  • Offer Zásilkovna and Balíkovna

Zásilkovna (Packeta) pickup points and Z-BOX lockers, Balíkovna from Česká pošta, and couriers like PPL and DPD are what Czech shoppers expect to choose from. Set fixed rates for the two or three you use, each with a delivery estimate.

  • Make a “Doprava a platba” page

Czech shops usually have a delivery and payment page that lists every option with its price. Make one, link it from the menu, and say plainly that you take cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay but not cash on delivery.

  • Expect buyers to compare prices

Many Czech shoppers check Heureka or Zboží.cz before they buy. Even if you don’t list there, keep the price, stock and delivery time on every product page so a comparison works in your favor.

How it works

From a few words to your website, live.

  1. Step 1: Describe your business

A sentence or two is enough: what you do, who it’s for and how people buy from you.

  2. Step 2: We build it while you watch

Cornerrr writes your pages, adds your products or services, and picks the colours, fonts and look. It takes about a minute.

  3. Step 3: Connect payments

Link a Stripe account, or create one in a few minutes. Your customers pay you directly.

  4. Step 4: You’re live

Publish on your free Cornerrr web address, or use your own. Change anything later by asking.

Questions

Good to know

Can my website be in Czech?

Yes. Describe your business in Czech and Cornerrr writes the website in Czech, and Stripe’s checkout appears in Czech too. A few built-in labels on the cart and account pages are still in English today, while the add-to-cart and checkout buttons can be renamed.

Can I take payments in koruna?

Yes. Set your store currency to CZK and Stripe Checkout charges in koruna; cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Klarna all work in CZK once you turn them on. Payments go to your own Stripe account, and Cornerrr adds no transaction fee.

Can customers pay by bank transfer?

Not at checkout: bank transfers and QR payments aren’t available through Cornerrr’s Stripe checkout today. For large one-off jobs you can mark the item “price on request” and agree payment with the customer by email.

Does Cornerrr file my DPH returns?

No. Stripe Tax can calculate DPH at checkout and Stripe can send invoices for one-time orders, but filing returns and keeping records stays with you or your accountant.

Do I need any technical skills?

No. You describe your business in your own words and Cornerrr builds the website. Afterwards you change things by clicking, or by asking the assistant in plain words.

How much does it cost?

Building and previewing your website is free, with no card needed. To go live and take payments, choose a plan from $19 a month. Every paid plan starts with a 14-day free trial; a card is needed to start it.
