Cornerrr in Greece
Describe your business in Greek and Cornerrr builds the online store in Greek: pages, products, a request form and a Stripe checkout in euros. Here is what Greek tax rules, couriers and shoppers expect, islands included.
Payments
Greeks pay online by card, with Apple Pay and Google Pay on phones, and cash on delivery (αντικαταβολή) is still widely used. Klarna now works for customers in Greece too. Through Stripe you can offer cards, wallets, Klarna and Revolut Pay in euros. Cash on delivery isn’t possible, and PayPal isn’t available through Cornerrr’s checkout, so say which methods you take before checkout.
Before you start
Greece’s optional VAT exemption for small businesses covers turnover up to €10,000 a year, in both the current and the previous year, and you apply for it through myAADE. Above it, you charge ΦΠΑ.
The standard rate is 24%, with 13% and 6% for some goods and services. A few Aegean islands have lower rates, so check with your accountant how to handle orders shipped there.
Greek businesses send their sales documents to AADE’s myDATA platform, online orders included. Stripe’s receipts don’t go there, so ask your accountant how your web orders are receipted and reported.
Shoppers who buy online have 14 days to change their mind and withdraw. Explain on a returns page how to send an item back and who pays for return shipping.
Show your company name, address, ΑΦΜ (tax number), ΓΕΜΗ number and contact details, and a privacy policy as GDPR requires. Greek rules change often, so take this as general information, not legal or tax advice.
General information, current as of October 2026, not legal or tax advice. Rules and rates change, so check them with an accountant or adviser, or the official sources, before you rely on them.
Cornerrr
Set your store’s currency to EUR and your products, shipping rates and checkout use it. Cornerrr works with about 140 currencies, one per web address.
Turn on Stripe Tax in your Stripe account and Cornerrr asks it to work out VAT for each order at checkout, on any paid plan. You can collect business customers’ VAT numbers too.
Describe your business in Greek and Cornerrr writes your pages in Greek. Stripe Checkout shows in Greek too. A few built-in cart and account labels are still in English today.
Checkout is Stripe’s own, so the local payment methods you turn on in Stripe show up for the customers who can use them, next to cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Local tips
ACS, ELTA Courier, Geniki Taxydromiki, Speedex and BOX NOW lockers cover the mainland quickly; islands and remote areas take longer. Give each fixed rate a delivery estimate that holds for the slowest places you ship to.
Cyprus shares the language and the euro, so the same Greek website works there. Add it to your shipping countries, and remember that sales to other EU consumers above €10,000 a year bring in their VAT through the One-Stop Shop.
Greek shoppers search in Greek and sometimes in Latin letters (Greeklish). Use the Greek name in product titles, and add the common Latin spelling in the description where it helps people find you.
