Online store for board games

Sell board games online, whether you design them or stock them

Cornerrr builds a shop for your games: a page per game with player count, play time and age, preorders while the print run is on its way, print-and-play files as downloads, and expansions and sleeves with stock. Payments go to your own Stripe account.

Step by step

How to sell board games online in 6 steps.

  1. Answer the box questions first

Number of players, play time, age, how long it takes to learn, and what makes it different from the game they already own. Put those facts at the top of every game page, in the same order.

  2. Show the game on the table

Photograph a game in progress from above, the components spread out, the box with its dimensions, and a hand holding the cards for scale. Players want to see what’s inside before they pay for it.

  3. Keep selling after the campaign

Crowdfunding brings in backers for a few weeks; your website catches everyone who missed it. List the game, the expansions and the add-ons, and label anything that was a campaign-only extra.

  4. Take preorders honestly

For the reprint, switch on “sell when out of stock”, put the expected ship month in the product name and description, and update both if the factory runs late.

  5. Add a print-and-play version

A PDF of the cards and boards lets curious players try your game for little money. Sell it as a download next to the boxed edition, with the paper and card weight that works best.

  6. Bring players to the table

List game nights, demos and tournaments as products with the seats as stock, so checkout stops when the tables are full. Put the next date on the home page.

Built in

A shop made for board games, not a blank template.

  • Preorders with a ship date

Turn on “sell when out of stock” for a game that’s on its way, and paid preorders arrive by email and in your Orders list, ready to post when the pallets land.

  • Downloads next to boxed games

Attach rules PDFs and print-and-play files to a product. Buyers get them after payment and keep them in their account, on any paid plan.

  • Event seats as stock

A tournament with sixteen places is a product with a stock of sixteen. Players pay at checkout, and your Orders list shows who’s coming.

  • Replacement parts on request

Mark replacement parts “price on request”. Players tell you which game and which piece is missing through a form, and you reply by email.

Good to know

  • Toy safety rules can apply

Games made for children (under 14 in the EU and UK, 12 and under in the US) count as toys or children’s products, with testing and CE or UKCA marking in Europe. In the US, games with small parts meant for ages 3 to 6 need a choking hazard warning.

  • Keep your crowdfunding promises

Backers notice if your website sells the game for less or offers the exclusives they paid for. Decide what stays campaign-only before you list anything.

  • Heavy boxes dent at the corners

Pack big-box games with padding on every side in a larger carton, and set your shipping rates from a weighed, packed parcel rather than a guess.

General information to help you get started, not legal advice. Rules differ by country, state and product, so check the ones that apply to you.

How it works

From a few words to a shop that takes payments, live.

  1. Step 1: Describe your business

A sentence or two is enough: what you do, who it’s for and how people buy from you.

  2. Step 2: We build it while you watch

Cornerrr writes your pages, adds your products or services, and picks the colours, fonts and look. It takes about a minute.

  3. Step 3: Connect payments

Link a Stripe account, or create one in a few minutes. Your customers pay you directly.

  4. Step 4: You’re live

Publish on your free Cornerrr web address, or use your own. Change anything later by asking.

Questions

Good to know

Can I sell my board game after Kickstarter on my own website?

Yes. List the game and expansions with stock, take preorders for the next print run, and point backers to your website for add-ons they missed.

How do preorders work on Cornerrr?

Switch on “sell when out of stock” for the product and say when it ships. Customers pay at checkout, and you add tracking numbers when the stock arrives. Charging long before you ship raises the risk of refunds and disputes, so keep the date honest.

Can I sell print-and-play games as downloads?

Yes, on any paid plan. Attach the PDF, and buyers get it after payment and keep it in their account. Say on the page what paper, card and sleeves work best.

Can a board game shop sell its shelves online?

Yes. List games with photos and stock counts, group them into collections by player count or type, and sell game night tickets on the same website.

Do I need any technical skills?

No. You describe your business in your own words and Cornerrr builds the website. Afterwards you change things by clicking, or by asking the assistant in plain words.

How much does it cost?

Building and previewing your website is free, with no card needed. To go live and take payments, choose a plan from $19 a month. Every paid plan starts with a 14-day free trial; a card is needed to start it.
