Step by step

How to sell puzzles online in 6 steps.

  1. List piece count, size and cut

Piece count, finished size in inches and centimeters, box size, board thickness and the cut (random, ribbon or with whimsy pieces). Experienced puzzlers choose on these details alone.

  2. Show the image and the pieces

Show the full image in high resolution, a close-up of loose pieces to show fit and finish, and the box. Say whether a reference poster comes inside, since many puzzlers want one.

  3. Credit the artist

Puzzlers follow illustrators. Name the artist on every page, and if you license the art, make sure the license covers puzzles sold online in the countries you ship to.

  4. Offer piece counts as options

When one design comes in 500 and 1000 pieces, make them options of one product with their own price and stock, so buyers see every size of the picture they like.

  5. Handle missing pieces kindly

Add a short request form for missing pieces: the puzzle name and where the gap is. A replacement piece costs you little and turns a complaint into a loyal customer.

  6. Plan for winter and gifts

Puzzles sell most from autumn through the winter holidays. Release new designs in early autumn, and put the last order date for holiday delivery on the home page.

Built in

A shop made for puzzles, not a blank template.

  • Missing-piece requests in your Inbox

Customers send the puzzle name and the missing piece through a form. The request lands in your Inbox and by email, and you answer from there.

  • Piece counts with their own stock

The 1000-piece version can sell out while the 500 keeps selling. Each option has its own stock, and checkout stops only for the one that’s gone.

  • Custom photo puzzles on request

Mark custom puzzles “price on request”. Customers choose a size and describe the photo, and you reply by email to agree the image and the price.

  • Gift season codes

Create a free-shipping code above an order amount you choose, with start and end dates for the holidays, and add a delivery estimate to each shipping rate.

Questions

Good to know

How do I sell custom photo puzzles online?

Mark them “price on request” so customers send the size and their idea through a form. The request lands in your Inbox, and you agree the photo and the price by email before you print.

Which piece counts should I offer?

A thousand pieces is the usual choice for adult puzzlers, five hundred suits a quicker project, and three hundred larger pieces suit families and anyone who wants bigger pieces to handle.

Can I sell a puzzle subscription?

Yes, on the Growth plan: a puzzle a month billed by Stripe, with subscribers seeing their plan in their account. Say clearly what arrives, when it ships and that they contact you to cancel.

How should I pack puzzles for shipping?

Shrink-wrapped boxes in a snug carton with padding at the corners, since crushed boxes are the most common complaint. Weigh a packed parcel of each size before you set your rates.

Do I need any technical skills?

No. You describe your business in your own words and Cornerrr builds the website. Afterwards you change things by clicking, or by asking the assistant in plain words.

How much does it cost?

Building and previewing your website is free, with no card needed. To go live and take payments, choose a plan from $19 a month. Every paid plan starts with a 14-day free trial; a card is needed to start it.
