Online store for quilts

Sell quilts online for what the hours are worth

A handmade quilt takes weeks, so selling quilts online has to show the stitching and explain the price. Cornerrr builds a quilt shop with sizes, fabrics and care on every quilt, patterns as downloads, memory quilts on request and a Stripe checkout.

Step by step

How to sell quilts online in 6 steps.

  1. Decide which quilts you sell finished

Finished quilts sell from stock, memory and custom quilts start as requests, and patterns sell as downloads. Keeping the three apart makes your menu and your prices easier to follow.

  2. Measure and name the size

Give the finished size in inches and centimeters and the bed it fits: crib, throw, twin, queen or king. Buyers often guess wrong about what a queen quilt covers, so say how far it hangs over each side.

  3. Photograph the whole quilt and the stitching

One photo laid flat, one on a bed, one folded, and a close-up of the quilting and binding. The stitching is why people pay for handmade, so let them see it.

  4. Write the fabric, batting and care facts

Cotton top and back, the batting, hand or machine quilted, wash temperature and drying. Put them in the same order on every quilt so buyers can compare.

  5. Price the hours honestly

Count fabric, batting, thread and the hours of piecing, quilting and binding. A short note on how each quilt is made helps buyers understand why it costs more than a store-bought bedspread.

  6. Set up memory quilt requests

Ask for the number of shirts, the size and the date it’s needed. The request lands in your Inbox, and you reply with a quote and how to mail the clothes to you.

Built in

A shop made for quilts, not a blank template.

  • Patterns delivered after payment

Sell your quilt patterns as digital downloads on any paid plan. Buyers get the file after paying, and it stays in their account if they lose the email.

  • Commissions that start as a conversation

Memory quilts and custom sizes can be “price on request”. Customers send details through a form and you reply by email, with no price shown until you’ve seen the project.

  • Made to order without overselling

Turn on “sell when out of stock” for quilts you make on order and state the lead time on the page, or give each finished quilt a stock of one so it sells only once.

  • Listings drafted from your photos

Upload a photo and the AI drafts the title, description and tags. You keep your own voice and add what only you know, like the story behind the fabric.

Good to know

  • Labels for bedding

In the US, new quilts and other household textiles generally need a label with the fiber content, the country of origin and the maker’s name or registered number, and some states have extra rules for filled bedding. Check the FTC’s textile labeling guidance and your state’s rules.

  • Baby quilts and safe sleep

Safe-sleep advice in the US and UK is to keep quilts and other soft bedding out of a baby’s sleep space for the first year. Describe baby quilts as play mats, stroller covers or keepsakes, not as crib bedding.

  • Customers’ fabric in your care

For memory quilts, explain how to mail the clothes, what you do with leftover pieces and how long the work takes. Put it on its own page so customers read it before they ask.

General information to help you get started, not legal advice. Rules differ by country, state and product, so check the ones that apply to you.

Questions

Good to know

How much should I charge for a handmade quilt?

Add up fabric, batting, thread and your hours at a fair hourly rate, then compare with similar handmade quilts. Many quilters underprice by charging for fabric alone. On Cornerrr you can change any price later by asking the assistant.

Can I sell quilt patterns and finished quilts in one shop?

Yes. Patterns are digital downloads delivered after payment on any paid plan, and finished quilts are physical products with the shipping rates you set. Each can have its own collection in the same shop.

How do customers order a memory quilt?

They fill in a short request with the size, the number of garments and the date it’s for. You see it in your Inbox, reply with a quote by email and agree how they’ll mail the clothes to you.

Is a machine-quilted quilt still handmade?

Most buyers count a quilt you pieced and quilted yourself as handmade, by hand or on a machine. Say which method you used on each quilt, since hand quilting takes far longer and is usually priced higher.

Do I need any technical skills?

No. You describe your business in your own words and Cornerrr builds the website. Afterwards you change things by clicking, or by asking the assistant in plain words.

How much does it cost?

Building and previewing your website is free, with no card needed. To go live and take payments, choose a plan from $19 a month. Every paid plan starts with a 14-day free trial; a card is needed to start it.
