Online store for vinyl records

Sell vinyl records online with grading collectors can trust

Cornerrr builds a record shop around your stock: used records with media and sleeve grades as one-of-a-kind products, new releases with preorders, genres as collections, and cleaning kits alongside. Stock drops the moment a record is paid for.

Step by step

How to sell vinyl records online in 6 steps.

  1. Grade media and sleeve separately

Use one standard scale, such as Goldmine (Mint, Near Mint, Very Good Plus, Very Good, Good, Poor), for the record and for the sleeve, and note seam splits, writing and ring wear. Collectors come back to shops that grade the same way every time.

  2. Name the pressing

Label, catalog number, country, year and anything from the runout that identifies the pressing. Collectors search for exact pressings, and an original sells very differently from a reissue.

  3. Sell each used copy once

Make one product per copy with a stock of one. When it’s paid for, stock drops to zero and checkout stops, so two people can’t buy the same record.

  4. Import a big inventory

If your stock lives in a spreadsheet or an export from another platform, import products from a spreadsheet on the Growth plan, then check titles, grades and photos before you publish.

  5. Pack records to survive the post

Use rigid record mailers with stiffeners, and take the record out of the outer sleeve so the sleeve doesn’t split in transit. Say on your shipping page that this is how you pack.

  6. Take preorders for new releases

Switch on “sell when out of stock” for a new pressing, put the release date in the description, and post the copies when they arrive from the label.

Built in

A shop made for vinyl records, not a blank template.

  • One-of-a-kind stock

Every used copy is its own product with a stock of one. It disappears from sale once paid for, and the order arrives by email and in your Orders list.

  • Spreadsheet import for big crates

On the Growth plan you can import products from a spreadsheet, so a few thousand records don’t have to be typed in one by one.

  • Want lists through a request form

Collectors send the records they’re hunting for through a form. The request lands in your Inbox, and you write back when a copy comes in.

  • Postage for every country you serve

Set fixed rates with delivery estimates for the countries you ship to, add a tracking number to each order, and the buyer gets a shipping email with the link.

Good to know

  • Grade on the cautious side

Under-grading earns thank-you emails; over-grading earns returns. When a record sits between two grades, pick the lower one and say why, and play-test anything you call Very Good Plus or better.

  • Discogs and your own website

Many collectors check prices and pressings on Discogs, and you can sell there too. Cornerrr doesn’t connect to it, so when a record sells in one place, remove it from the other by hand.

General information to help you get started, not legal advice. Rules differ by country, state and product, so check the ones that apply to you.

How it works

From a few words to a shop that takes payments, live.

  1. Step 1: Describe your business

A sentence or two is enough: what you do, who it’s for and how people buy from you.

  2. Step 2: We build it while you watch

Cornerrr writes your pages, adds your products or services, and picks the colours, fonts and look. It takes about a minute.

  3. Step 3: Connect payments

Link a Stripe account, or create one in a few minutes. Your customers pay you directly.

  4. Step 4: You’re live

Publish on your free Cornerrr web address, or use your own. Change anything later by asking.

Questions

Good to know

How should I grade used vinyl for my website?

Use one standard, such as the Goldmine scale, for the record and the sleeve separately, play-test before giving a high grade, and describe every flaw in words. A short grading guide page explains your scale to new buyers.

How do I ship vinyl records safely?

In a rigid mailer made for records, with stiffeners on both sides and the record out of its outer sleeve. Add the tracking number to the order, and the buyer gets a shipping email with the link.

Can I import my record inventory into Cornerrr?

Yes, on the Growth plan you can import products from a spreadsheet. Put artist, title, grade, price and stock in columns, import, then check a few records by hand before publishing.

Can I sell records in my shop and online at the same time?

Yes. Each used copy is its own product with a stock of one; when one sells over the counter, set its stock to zero so nobody can buy it online.

Do I need any technical skills?

No. You describe your business in your own words and Cornerrr builds the website. Afterwards you change things by clicking, or by asking the assistant in plain words.

How much does it cost?

Building and previewing your website is free, with no card needed. To go live and take payments, choose a plan from $19 a month. Every paid plan starts with a 14-day free trial; a card is needed to start it.
