Online store for tea

Sell tea online, with the brewing notes buyers look for

Tell Cornerrr about your teas and it builds a tea shop: loose leaf and blends with pouch sizes as options, sample sets, a page for teaware and Stripe checkout. Then ask the assistant to add a brewing guide to every tea.

Step by step

How to sell tea online in 6 steps.

  1. Organize by type and by moment

Group teas by type (green, black, oolong, herbal) and add a few collections people actually look for, like caffeine-free or breakfast teas. A first-time buyer may not know what oolong is but knows they want something for the evening.

  2. Put the brewing guide on every tea

Water temperature, amount, steeping time and how many infusions. The same four facts, in the same place on every page, answer the question you’d otherwise get by email.

  3. Sell samples first

A set of five small samples is light to post and turns curious visitors into buyers. Link each sample set to the full-size pouches of the teas inside it.

  4. Show the dry leaf and the cup

Photograph loose leaf up close on a plain surface, then one shot of the brewed color in a clear cup. Leaf size and color are how tea buyers judge quality before they buy.

  5. Use sizes as options

Sample, 50 g and 100 g pouches, and a tin, as options with their own price and stock. A tin sells once; refill pouches sell again and again.

  6. Write origin and harvest honestly

Say where the tea was grown and, for single-estate teas, the harvest or flush. Leave out vague words like “premium”: specific facts read as more trustworthy.

Built in

A shop made for tea, not a blank template.

  • Pouch sizes with their own stock

Every tea can have pouch sizes and a tin as options, each with its own price and stock. When one size of a seasonal tea runs out, the others stay on sale.

  • Brewing guides added by the assistant

Ask it to add water temperature and steeping time to every tea’s description from your notes, then check each one and apply the changes you like.

  • A tea subscription on Growth

A monthly tea box or a favorite tea sent every few weeks, billed by Stripe, with optional free trial days. Subscribers see their plan in their account.

  • Simple shipping for light parcels

Tea is light, so one or two fixed rates with delivery estimates usually cover every order. Choose the countries you ship to and add a free-shipping code above an order amount.

Good to know

  • Careful with health words

Herbal blends invite claims like “detox” or “boosts immunity”. In the UK and EU only authorized health claims are allowed on food, and in the US a tea sold to treat a condition counts as a drug to the FDA. Describe taste and ingredients instead.

  • Herbs that need a note

Some herbs aren’t right for everyone. Licorice root, for example, isn’t advised in large amounts for people with high blood pressure. If a blend has herbs like this, say so plainly and suggest buyers ask their doctor.

  • Registering and labeling

Blending and packing tea is food handling. In the UK and EU you register as a food business, and many US cottage food laws allow dry tea and herb blends. Labels need the name, ingredients, net weight and your details.

General information to help you get started, not legal advice. Rules differ by country, state and product, so check the ones that apply to you.

How it works

From a few words to a shop that takes payments, live.

  1. Step 1: Describe your business

A sentence or two is enough: what you do, who it’s for and how people buy from you.

  2. Step 2: We build it while you watch

Cornerrr writes your pages, adds your products or services, and picks the colours, fonts and look. It takes about a minute.

  3. Step 3: Connect payments

Link a Stripe account, or create one in a few minutes. Your customers pay you directly.

  4. Step 4: You’re live

Publish on your free Cornerrr web address, or use your own. Change anything later by asking.

Questions

Good to know

Do I need a license to sell my own tea blends?

Often only a simple registration. Many US states allow dry tea and herb blends under cottage food laws, and the UK and EU ask you to register as a food business with your local authority. Check the rules where you blend and pack.

Should I sell tea in tins or pouches?

Both: a tin for the first purchase or a gift, and a resealable pouch for refills. Offer them as options on the same tea so returning buyers simply choose the refill.

Can I sell teapots and cups next to my tea?

Yes. Teaware is an ordinary product with photos and stock. Tax can differ between tea and teaware where you sell, and Stripe Tax can work it out at checkout once it’s active on your Stripe account.

Can I offer a tea of the month club?

Yes, on the Growth plan. A monthly tea box can be billed by Stripe every month or every few weeks, and subscribers see it in their account. You choose the teas for each box.

Do I need any technical skills?

No. You describe your business in your own words and Cornerrr builds the website. Afterwards you change things by clicking, or by asking the assistant in plain words.

How much does it cost?

Building and previewing your website is free, with no card needed. To go live and take payments, choose a plan from $19 a month. Every paid plan starts with a 14-day free trial; a card is needed to start it.
