Step by step

How to sell activewear online in 6 steps.

  1. Say who it’s for and what it’s for

Running, lifting, yoga and hiking ask different things of a fabric. Say on your home page which activities your pieces are made for, so a runner and a yoga teacher both know at a glance if you’re their brand.

  2. Add length and support as options

Leggings can come in inseam lengths, bras in support levels, and every combination of size, length and color gets its own stock. Checkout stops when the 25-inch medium in black runs out.

  3. Shoot in motion

Show each piece in a squat, a stretch and a stride, plus a flat-lay and a fabric close-up. Movement photos answer what every buyer wonders about leggings: does it stay put, and is it see-through?

  4. Write fit notes for every product

Say whether it’s compressive, supportive or relaxed, how the waistband sits, and the height and size of each model. If a style runs small, put that in the first line.

  5. Open a page for studios and teams

Gyms, studios and clubs want branded or bulk orders. A wholesale page with the price hidden and a request form brings those orders to your Inbox, where you reply with your terms.

  6. Plan around the training year

The new year, spring running season and the start of school sports bring the busiest weeks. Add a new colorway a few weeks ahead and set a discount code with start and end dates.

Built in

A shop made for activewear, not a blank template.

  • Every size, length and color counted

Each combination keeps its own stock and SKU, and stock goes down when an order is paid, so the website sells what’s in your stockroom and nothing more.

  • Bulk orders through requests

Studio owners and coaches send sizes, quantities and logo details through a form. Requests land in your Inbox and by email, and you quote on your own terms.

  • Launch colors with a code

Create a discount code with start and end dates, a usage limit or a minimum order for a launch weekend. Discount codes come with any paid plan.

  • Care written once, used everywhere

Ask the assistant to add the same care line to every product, such as wash cold and skip fabric softener, or to put the size guide link on all leggings at once.

Good to know

  • Performance claims need backing

Words like antibacterial, UPF 50, moisture-wicking or squat-proof are claims. Keep your fabric supplier’s test reports or certificates for any you use, and take care with antibacterial claims in the EU, where treated fabrics can carry extra labeling rules.

  • Recycled and sustainable claims

If you say recycled, name the material and the share and keep the certificate. The EU has tightened its rules on vague green claims such as “eco-friendly”, so specific facts work better than general ones.

  • Fiber content on every listing

Activewear is usually a blend, such as nylon with elastane. US and EU textile rules expect fiber content on the label and before purchase online, so list the percentages on every product.

General information to help you get started, not legal advice. Rules differ by country, state and product, so check the ones that apply to you.

Questions

Good to know

How do I avoid returns for see-through leggings?

Test every fabric in a deep squat in bright light before you produce it, and show that test in a photo or a short note. Buyers send back what surprises them, and leggings most often surprise people in exactly this way.

Can I sell activewear to yoga studios and gyms?

Yes. Many small brands supply studios that resell at the front desk. Add a wholesale page with the price hidden; studios send their order through the form and it lands in your Inbox.

Can I sell activewear as a subscription?

On the Growth plan you can, for example a new training top every three months, billed by Stripe. Most activewear sells better as single pieces and sets, so keep any subscription small and simple.

What should an activewear size guide include?

Body measurements for each size (bust, waist, hips and inseam), how much the fabric stretches, and where each piece should sit. Add the model’s height and size on every product.

Do I need any technical skills?

No. You describe your business in your own words and Cornerrr builds the website. Afterwards you change things by clicking, or by asking the assistant in plain words.

How much does it cost?

Building and previewing your website is free, with no card needed. To go live and take payments, choose a plan from $19 a month. Every paid plan starts with a 14-day free trial; a card is needed to start it.
