Online store for furniture

Sell furniture online, with every measurement buyers ask for

Selling furniture online means answering “will it fit?” and “when will it arrive?” before anyone pays. Cornerrr builds a furniture shop with dimensions and finishes on every piece, lead times for made-to-order work, quote requests for custom sizes and a Stripe checkout.

Step by step

How to sell furniture online in 6 steps.

  1. Split ready pieces from made to order

Pieces already in the workshop get a real stock count. Made-to-order pieces can stay on sale at zero stock with the “sell when out of stock” switch, as long as the lead time sits right under the price.

  2. Give dimensions buyers can check at home

Width, depth, height, seat height and weight, plus the narrowest point for doorways and stairs. A simple drawing with the measurements on it answers more questions than three paragraphs.

  3. Offer woods, fabrics and sizes as options

Wood species, stain, fabric and length can be options, each with its own price. If a finish adds time to the build, say so in the option name so nobody is surprised.

  4. Decide how big pieces travel

Stools and side tables can go by parcel at a fixed rate. Tables and sofas often go by freight or in your own van, so name the area your delivery rate covers and ask buyers farther away to request a delivery quote first.

  5. Show the joints and the grain

Photos of the joinery, the underside, the grain and your bench build trust for a large purchase. Add one photo of each piece in a real room so buyers can judge its size.

  6. Answer care and returns before checkout

Explain how to care for oiled or lacquered finishes, what counts as natural character in the wood, and whether custom pieces can come back. Cornerrr drafts a returns policy page for you to adapt.

Built in

A shop made for furniture, not a blank template.

  • Lead times on made-to-order pieces

Keep made-to-order pieces for sale when stock reads zero and put the build time on the product page, so customers know a dining table arrives in weeks, not days.

  • Commissions and freight quotes on request

Custom sizes, matching sets and far-away deliveries can be “price on request”. The buyer’s details land in your Inbox and you reply with a quote by email.

  • Pay later options where Stripe offers them

For bigger purchases, turn on Klarna, Affirm or Afterpay in your Stripe Dashboard where they’re available for your country and currency, and they appear at checkout.

  • Invoices and tax IDs for business buyers

Cafés, offices and designers can enter a tax ID at checkout, Stripe Tax can work out sales tax or VAT, and each one-time order comes with an invoice.

Good to know

  • Fire and tip-over rules

In the US, upholstered furniture must meet a federal flammability standard and carry a permanent label, and dressers and chests above a set height must pass a tip-over test and carry a warning. The UK has its own fire safety labels for upholstered furniture. Check what applies before you sell.

  • Price the delivery, not just the piece

Two-person delivery, stairs and long drives add up. Work out what a delivery really costs you, including the drive back, before you set a rate or quote one.

  • Be plain about vintage condition

Photograph scratches, repairs and replaced parts, and say whether a piece has been refinished. Buyers of vintage furniture expect wear but dislike surprises.

General information to help you get started, not legal advice. Rules differ by country, state and product, so check the ones that apply to you.

How it works

From a few words to a shop that takes payments, live.

  1. Step 1: Describe your business

A sentence or two is enough: what you do, who it’s for and how people buy from you.

  2. Step 2: We build it while you watch

Cornerrr writes your pages, adds your products or services, and picks the colours, fonts and look. It takes about a minute.

  3. Step 3: Connect payments

Link a Stripe account, or create one in a few minutes. Your customers pay you directly.

  4. Step 4: You’re live

Publish on your free Cornerrr web address, or use your own. Change anything later by asking.

Questions

Good to know

How do I ship furniture I sell online?

Small pieces can go by parcel carrier, larger ones by freight or your own van. On Cornerrr you set fixed rates and the countries you ship to, add the carrier and tracking number when a piece leaves, and the buyer gets a shipping email with the link.

Can customers order a custom size table from my website?

Yes, as a request. Mark the custom version “price on request”, the customer sends the size, wood and room details through a form, and you reply from your Inbox with a quote and a lead time.

Should I make furniture to order or keep stock?

Many small makers do both: a few ready pieces for people who want them now, and made-to-order versions with a clear lead time. Making to order ties up less money in timber and floor space.

Can I sell furniture to offices and cafés?

Yes. Business buyers can enter a tax ID at checkout and get an invoice for one-time orders, and larger fit-outs can come in as requests that you quote by email.

Do I need any technical skills?

No. You describe your business in your own words and Cornerrr builds the website. Afterwards you change things by clicking, or by asking the assistant in plain words.

How much does it cost?

Building and previewing your website is free, with no card needed. To go live and take payments, choose a plan from $19 a month. Every paid plan starts with a 14-day free trial; a card is needed to start it.
