Step by step

How to sell beard oil online in 6 steps.

  1. Name scents so people remember them

“Cedar and orange” or “Workshop”: either works if the same name is on the bottle, the page and your market sign. Put the actual notes under every name so gift buyers know what they’re getting.

  2. Write for the gift buyer too

A lot of beard oil is bought as a present. Say who it suits (short or long beards, sensitive skin), what’s in each kit, and the last order date before Father’s Day and the winter holidays.

  3. Explain how to use it

How many drops, on a damp or dry beard, and how long a bottle lasts. First-time users don’t know, and a clear line stops them overdoing it.

  4. Build kits from what you make

Oil, balm, wash and a comb make a kit with its own stock. Kits sell as gifts; single bottles and refills sell to people who already love a scent.

  5. Photograph the bottle and the dropper

Show the bottle with the label facing out, a dropper of oil to show its color, and the kit laid out. A real customer’s beard, with their permission, beats a stock model.

  6. Give barbers a trade route

Barbers sell grooming products from the chair. Add a page for barbers with a price-on-request wholesale form, and mention that you send testers.

Built in

A shop made for beard oil, not a blank template.

  • Kits and singles side by side

Sell single oils with scents and sizes as options, and kits as their own products, each with its own stock and SKU.

  • Barber requests in your Inbox

Barbers ask for trade prices and testers through a request form. Each request lands in your Inbox and by email, and you answer with your terms.

  • Codes for gift seasons

On any paid plan, make discount codes that start and end on the dates you set, so a Father’s Day offer stops on its own.

  • Order emails sent for you

Customers get an order confirmation, then a shipping email with a tracking link once you add the tracking number. You get an email for every order.

Good to know

  • Keep claims cosmetic

In the US, saying an oil makes a beard grow faster or thicker is a drug claim. Softness, shine, less dryness and a tidier look are cosmetic claims.

  • Cosmetics rules apply

Beard oil is a cosmetic: FDA rules including MoCRA in the US (some small businesses are exempt from registration and listing), and a Responsible Person, a safety assessment and CPNP or SCPN notification in the EU and UK.

  • Go easy on essential oils

The scent usually comes from essential oils, and too much can irritate the skin under a beard. Keep to the levels your supplier or safety assessor gives, and offer an unscented version.

  • Packing glass droppers

Dropper bottles leak if the cap loosens on the way. Tighten and seal each cap, bag each bottle and pack them upright so oil never reaches the label.

General information to help you get started, not legal advice. Rules differ by country, state and product, so check the ones that apply to you.

How it works

  1. Step 1: Describe your business

A sentence or two is enough: what you do, who it’s for and how people buy from you.

  2. Step 2: We build it while you watch

Cornerrr writes your pages, adds your products or services, and picks the colours, fonts and look. It takes about a minute.

  3. Step 3: Connect payments

Link a Stripe account, or create one in a few minutes. Your customers pay you directly.

  4. Step 4: You’re live

Publish on your free Cornerrr web address, or use your own. Change anything later by asking.

Questions

Good to know

What should go on a beard oil label?

Usually the product name, net contents, ingredients in descending order, your business name and address, and directions. In the EU and UK add the Responsible Person, a batch number and the shelf life. Check your country’s cosmetics labeling rules for the full list.

Can I sell beard oil gift sets for Father’s Day?

Yes. Make gift sets their own products with limited stock, add them a few weeks ahead and put your last order date in the description. On Cornerrr a discount code with an end date keeps the offer to the season.

How many beard oil scents should I start with?

A small range is easier to stock: one woody, one fresh, one spicy and an unscented oil. Watch which sell out, and retire slow sellers before you add new ones.

Can my barber shop website sell beard oil too?

Yes. One Cornerrr website can list your beard oils for sale and your barber services as requests, with your opening hours and a contact page.

Do I need any technical skills?

No. You describe your business in your own words and Cornerrr builds the website. Afterwards you change things by clicking, or by asking the assistant in plain words.

How much does it cost?

Building and previewing your website is free, with no card needed. To go live and take payments, choose a plan from $19 a month. Every paid plan starts with a 14-day free trial; a card is needed to start it.
