Online store for bikes

Sell bikes online without losing the bike shop’s know-how

Cornerrr builds a bike shop website from a sentence: new bikes with frame sizes and colors as options, checked used bikes as one-offs, parts and accessories with stock, and service and fitting requests in your Inbox. Customers pay through your own Stripe account.

Step by step

How to sell bikes online in 6 steps.

  1. Size every bike clearly

Give each frame size a rider height range, plus reach and stack for road and gravel bikes. Most buyers hesitate until they know a bike fits, and a size chart answers the question your phone would otherwise ring with.

  2. Decide how bikes reach buyers

A boxed bike needs assembly and an expensive parcel. Many shops post parts and accessories everywhere but deliver complete bikes nearby or hand them over in the shop. Say on each bike which you do, and use “price on request” for bikes you only sell after a test ride.

  3. List used bikes with their history

Photograph both sides and the drivetrain, give the frame size, and list what you replaced and what’s worn. Keep the serial number on record and check it against a stolen-bike register before you buy a bike in.

  4. Put e-bike facts up front

Motor power, top assisted speed, battery capacity and a realistic range. In the EU most e-bikes that count as bicycles assist up to 25 km/h with a 250 watt motor, and many US states use classes 1 to 3.

  5. Take service requests online

Mark servicing, fittings and repairs “price on request”. Riders describe the bike and the problem, the request lands in your Inbox, and you reply with a day to bring it in.

  6. Sell accessories that post easily

Helmets, lights, locks, tubes and tools travel in small parcels. Sell them with stock and fixed shipping rates to everyone, even if complete bikes stay local.

Built in

A shop made for bikes, not a blank template.

  • Frame sizes with their own stock

Each frame size and color keeps its own stock, so a sold-out 54 cm doesn’t stop someone buying the 56, and checkout stops when the last one goes.

  • Ask first for the bikes that need a fitting

Hide the price and cart on bikes you want to fit in person. Riders send their height and the model they like, and you reply by email.

  • Tracking for every parcel

Add the carrier and tracking number to an order, and the customer gets a shipping email with a tracking link. UPS, USPS, FedEx, DHL and Royal Mail links are built in.

  • Listings written with you

Upload a photo of a bike and Cornerrr drafts the listing. Ask the assistant to add the same sizing note to every bike at once, then check the specs yourself.

Good to know

  • E-bike batteries are dangerous goods

Carriers treat lithium e-bike batteries as dangerous goods with special packing and labels, and some won’t carry them at all. Check your carrier’s rules before you offer e-bikes or spare batteries by post.

  • Bike safety standards

In the US, bicycles sold to consumers must meet the CPSC bicycle requirements; in Europe, ISO 4210 for bicycles and EN 15194 for e-bikes are the usual standards. Sell bikes from makers who meet them, and assemble and check every bike before it leaves.

General information to help you get started, not legal advice. Rules differ by country, state and product, so check the ones that apply to you.

Questions

Good to know

Can I ship complete bikes to customers?

Yes, if your shipping rate covers a bike box and the buyer can finish the assembly. Many shops post bikes mostly built, with the handlebars and pedals to fit, plus a short guide and the tools needed.

How do I sell used bikes online safely?

Check serial numbers against stolen-bike registers, keep a record of who sold you each bike, and describe wear honestly with photos. Give each used bike its own product with a stock of one.

Can customers book a bike service on my website?

They can send a request: mark servicing “price on request”, and their bike details and preferred day arrive in your Inbox. You confirm by email; there’s no automatic booking.

Can I offer bike finance on my website?

Buy now, pay later methods such as Klarna, Affirm or Afterpay can appear in Stripe Checkout when you turn them on and they’re available in your country. The customer’s agreement is with that provider, not with you or Cornerrr.

Do I need any technical skills?

No. You describe your business in your own words and Cornerrr builds the website. Afterwards you change things by clicking, or by asking the assistant in plain words.

How much does it cost?

Building and previewing your website is free, with no card needed. To go live and take payments, choose a plan from $19 a month. Every paid plan starts with a 14-day free trial; a card is needed to start it.
