Step by step

How to sell hair accessories online in 6 steps.

  1. Show them in hair, on every hair type

Photograph each piece in straight, wavy, curly and coily hair, in short and long styles. A claw clip that holds fine hair may not close on thick hair, and buyers want to see hair like theirs.

  2. Say what hair each piece suits

Give the size of each clip and how much hair it holds, the width of headbands and whether elastics are gentle on curls. These are the questions that stop people from ordering.

  3. Group colors and build bundles

List each design once with colors as options and stock for each, and make sets of three or five as their own products. Small items sell well together, and a bundle makes the shipping worth paying.

  4. Take bridal pieces as requests

Bridal combs, vines and veils are often made for one wedding. Hide the price, ask for the date, the dress style and the metal color, and reply from your Inbox with options and timing.

  5. Offer salon and boutique wholesale

Salons and boutiques sell clips and scrunchies at the counter. A wholesale page with a request form brings their orders to your Inbox.

  6. Set a free-shipping threshold

With low-priced items, shipping can cost as much as the clip. Create a free-shipping discount code above a minimum order and show it on your home page.

Built in

A shop made for hair accessories, not a blank template.

  • Colors with their own stock

Every color of a scrunchie or clip has its own stock and SKU, and checkout stops when the sage runs out while the other colors keep selling.

  • Bridal requests in your Inbox

A bridal page with the price hidden takes requests with the wedding date and details. Each one lands in your Inbox and by email.

  • Discount codes for bundles and launches

Percentage, fixed amount or free shipping codes, with start and end dates, usage limits and minimum orders, on any paid plan.

  • Listings from a photo

Photograph a new clip and Cornerrr drafts the listing, alt text and tags. You add the size, the material and the hair types it suits.

Good to know

  • Kids’ accessories have rules

Hair clips and bows made for children are children’s products in the US, with testing, certificate and tracking label rules, and small pieces can be a choking hazard for young children. Say who each product is for, and add warnings where they apply.

  • Silk or satin

Call a scrunchie mulberry silk only if it is, and say polyester satin when that’s what it is. Satin is a weave, not a fiber, and buyers looking for silk feel misled when it isn’t.

  • Packaging for small things

Tiny items get lost in a big box. A padded envelope with a backing card or a small pouch keeps them safe, keeps postage low and looks good when opened.

General information to help you get started, not legal advice. Rules differ by country, state and product, so check the ones that apply to you.

How it works

From a few words to a shop that takes payments, live.

  1. Step 1: Describe your business

A sentence or two is enough: what you do, who it’s for and how people buy from you.

  2. Step 2: We build it while you watch

Cornerrr writes your pages, adds your products or services, and picks the colours, fonts and look. It takes about a minute.

  3. Step 3: Connect payments

Link a Stripe account, or create one in a few minutes. Your customers pay you directly.

  4. Step 4: You’re live

Publish on your free Cornerrr web address, or use your own. Change anything later by asking.

Questions

Good to know

How do I make shipping worth it on hair accessories?

Work out what an order costs to pack and ship, then encourage bigger orders with bundles and a free-shipping code above a minimum. A single clip rarely carries its own shipping.

Can I sell hair accessories wholesale to salons?

Yes. Add a wholesale page with the price hidden and a request form for quantities. On Cornerrr, the salon’s order lands in your Inbox, and you reply with your wholesale terms.

Do bridal hair pieces need to be made to order?

Not always. Popular combs and pins can sell from stock, while custom vines and veils work better as requests. Each product chooses: a price and stock, or a hidden price and a request form.

Do I need any technical skills?

No. You describe your business in your own words and Cornerrr builds the website. Afterwards you change things by clicking, or by asking the assistant in plain words.

How much does it cost?

Building and previewing your website is free, with no card needed. To go live and take payments, choose a plan from $19 a month. Every paid plan starts with a 14-day free trial; a card is needed to start it.
