What is Satispay?

Satispay is an Italian payment app. Customers pay from a balance in the app that is linked to their bank account, so no card is involved. When they choose Satispay on your checkout, Stripe sends them to a Satispay page to approve the payment, then tells you straight away whether it succeeded. It takes euros only.

How your customers pay

  1. Choose Satispay

    The customer picks Satispay on your Stripe checkout for an order in euros.

  2. Go to Satispay’s page

    They are taken to a payment page hosted by Satispay, which shows your shop and the amount.

  3. Phone number or QR code

    They type their phone number to receive a payment request in the app, or scan the QR code on the page with the Satispay app.

  4. Approve and return

    They approve in the Satispay app, the payment is confirmed at once and they are brought back to your website.

Set up

Turn on Satispay in three steps.

  1. Connect your Stripe account

    Link the Stripe account you already have, or create one in a few minutes from Cornerrr. Payments go straight to it; Cornerrr adds no transaction fee.

  2. Turn the method on in Stripe

    In your Stripe Dashboard, open the payment method settings and turn it on. Stripe may ask a few questions about your business first.

  3. It shows at checkout

    Your Cornerrr checkout is Stripe Checkout, so customers who can use the method see it automatically when their country and your currency match.

How do I turn on Satispay with Cornerrr?

Connect your Stripe account, then switch on Satispay in your Stripe Dashboard’s payment method settings. Set your store’s currency to euros, and Cornerrr’s Stripe Checkout offers Satispay to eligible customers in Italy automatically.

Does Satispay work for subscriptions?

Not on Cornerrr’s checkout today. Stripe’s Checkout takes Satispay for one-time payments only, so subscriptions on the Growth plan are paid by card or SEPA Direct Debit.

Where does a Satispay refund go?

Back to the customer’s Satispay balance, not straight to their bank account. You can refund in full or in part for up to 180 days, and the refund usually completes within about five minutes.

Can a customer dispute a Satispay payment?

Yes, for up to 120 days after the purchase. Stripe holds the amount while it’s open, and you have 15 days to send evidence such as a tracking number, the shipping date or proof of delivery. Satispay then decides.

Which businesses can’t use Satispay?

Satispay through Stripe is for selling to consumers, not to other businesses. Stripe’s excluded categories include travel packages, some lodging, software, counseling, employment agencies and direct marketing, so check Stripe’s list before you turn it on.

Do I need any technical skills?

No. You describe your business in your own words and Cornerrr builds the website. Afterwards you change things by clicking, or by asking the assistant in plain words.

How much does it cost?

Building and previewing your website is free, with no card needed. To go live and take payments, choose a plan from $19 a month. Every paid plan starts with a 14-day free trial; a card is needed to start it.
