What is Billie?

Billie is a buy now, pay later service for business-to-business purchases. A business buyer picks Billie at checkout, Billie decides whether to approve the purchase, and the buyer pays Billie’s invoice later, usually within 30 days. You receive the full amount upfront. Through Stripe it’s for sellers in Germany, France, the Netherlands, Austria, Spain, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Switzerland and the UK, and it isn’t for consumers.

How your customers pay

  1. Billie at checkout

    The business buyer chooses Billie on Stripe Checkout. It shows on one-time orders in a currency Billie takes for your country, such as euros, pounds or Swiss francs.

  2. Confirm at Billie

    They’re sent to Billie’s website to confirm their company and the purchase. Billie decides whether to approve it.

  3. Back to your store

    Approved buyers return to your order confirmation page, and you get the order email as usual. The full amount goes to your Stripe balance.

  4. They pay Billie later

    The buyer pays the invoice to Billie within the agreed term, usually 30 days. You don’t have to chase the payment.

  • The terms trade buyers expect

    Restaurants buying packaging, offices ordering furniture and shops restocking from a wholesaler are used to invoices with time to pay. Billie lets them order online on those terms.

  • Cash now, not in 30 days

    Offering invoice terms yourself means waiting weeks for the money and chasing late payers. With Billie you’re paid upfront and the buyer pays Billie instead.

  • Pairs with Cornerrr’s business tools

    Cornerrr can collect your buyer’s tax ID at checkout and create invoices for one-time orders, and large or custom orders can stay “price on request” so the buyer asks for a quote first.

  • Know what’s excluded

    Billie doesn’t accept some sectors, including jewelry, watches and precious metals, gambling, financial institutions and adult content, and it can refuse others at its discretion.

Turn on Billie in three steps.

  1. Connect your Stripe account

    Link the Stripe account you already have, or create one in a few minutes from Cornerrr. Payments go straight to it; Cornerrr adds no transaction fee.

  2. Turn the method on in Stripe

    In your Stripe Dashboard, open the payment method settings and turn it on. Stripe may ask a few questions about your business first.

  3. It shows at checkout

    Your Cornerrr checkout is Stripe Checkout, so customers who can use the method see it automatically when their country and your currency match.

Good to know

How do I offer pay by invoice with Billie on my website?

Connect your Stripe account to Cornerrr and turn on Billie in your Stripe Dashboard’s payment method settings. Cornerrr’s Stripe Checkout then shows Billie to eligible business buyers automatically, in your store’s currency.

Can consumers pay with Billie?

No. Billie is only for business buyers. If you also sell to consumers, they see cards, wallets and your other methods, and Klarna covers pay later for consumers in many countries.

Does Billie work for subscriptions or repeat billing?

No. Billie isn’t available for subscriptions in Stripe Checkout. Each order is a separate purchase that the buyer pays by invoice.

How do refunds and disputes work with Billie?

Refund through Stripe, in full or in part, up to 365 days after the purchase. Buyers can raise a claim with Billie for suspected fraud, a double payment or a wrong amount, and you answer with evidence, such as delivery records, in your Stripe Dashboard.

What does Billie cost my business?

Stripe charges a fee for each Billie payment, like its other payment methods; see Stripe’s pricing page for your country. Cornerrr adds no transaction fee.

Do I need any technical skills?

No. You describe your business in your own words and Cornerrr builds the website. Afterwards you change things by clicking, or by asking the assistant in plain words.

How much does it cost?

Building and previewing your website is free, with no card needed. To go live and take payments, choose a plan from $19 a month. Every paid plan starts with a 14-day free trial; a card is needed to start it.
